How do I calculate hydraulic motor torque?
Motor torque is displacement times differential pressure divided by 20π (≈62.8). Example: a 200 cc/rev orbital motor at 140 bar gives 200×140/62.8 ≈ 446 N·m theoretical. Multiply by mechanical efficiency (85–95%) for actual torque.
T [N·m] = V [cc/rev] × ΔP [bar] / 20π
Calculator
Starting torque at low speed is lower than theoretical — allow margin.
