How do I size the required cylinder bore?

Back-calculate the piston bore from required force and working pressure. Example: 120 kN at 180 bar needs about 92 mm → select the standard 100 mm bore.

D [mm] = √( 4F / πP ) × 1000 (F: kN→N, P: bar→Pa)

Choose the next standard bore up (40·50·63·80·100·125…).
